My Journey

I began my L1 classes with a sceptic mind (by the insistence of one of my friends). But after a couple of classes my reluctance changed into enthusiasm and enjoyment. Urmiladidi was our teacher and I really used to look forward to the evenings which I still do. Now, after attending the Gita classes for all these months (not just chanting the slokas but reading the interpretations), I have come to understand that the Gita has the tremendous power to change one's mind— it has the potential to uplift the human mind. It upholds spirituality,in fact it is the epitome of spirituality. I wouldn't use the word 'religion' because in my belief religion divides people. But spirituality unites humanity— it is universal. The teachings of the Gita is applicable to everyone. It's a way of life to follow (which, of course, is extremely difficult to do, I feel). But if a few specks of it can be practiced, an individual will immensely benefit from it, I am sure. So what's the harm in giving it a good try?

I have got this golden opportunity from Gita Parivar at a much matured age of my life. But I am very happy for the four young minds in our class who are fortunate to have got the exposure to this vast storehouse of knowledge at such an early age. They read so well. Their fluency is amazing. I hope and feel that they will grow up to be very good and responsible citizens of the world in future.

Thank you Radha didi, Pranjali didi, Arunima didi for your help and guidance.
